This weight loss scam tricks customers into buying a non-prescription herbal alternative at the original prescription product’s higher price. It really disgusts us when we see this scam in action, and believe it or not, we see it often!
The most popular weight loss product we are currently seeing this scam with is: Phentermine. Companies pull this scam by making their product name so similar to the prescription product name, in this case Phentermine, it is easy for unsuspecting consumers, to confuse it for the actual prescription product. The following product names are examples of this scam in action: PhentREmine, PhentRAmine, PhentIRmine, etc.
If you do read all the product information carefully and catch that this is not the real PhentERmine, beware of the selling language: “the all-natural alternative appetite suppressant.” You can get the same natural weight loss product for half the cost!
We did a Google search for “Phentermine” and here are a couple of the scam ads we saw:

So what are they up to? Notice the switching of the “ER” to “RE” in the middle of “phentermine”.
We checked out their sites. They are not pharmacies. They cannot sell phentERmine, which is a pharmaceutical weight loss product that requires a prescription. Instead, they manufactured and sell something they call “phentREmine,” which sounds the same, but is made from an herbal supplement: it’s a fake product. They are clearly trying to fool you into thinking its phentERmine, but it’s not.
The ad says “Phentermine No-Rx” which is meant to fool you into thinking you can get the pharmaceutical product without a prescription. But you can’t! They’re just going to charge you through nose and then send you the fake product, phentREmine.
Nice people, huh? Don’t be fooled.
